Looking Ahead Week of Sept 30-Oct 4

We've got another exciting week of learning ahead. Here's what we'll be focusing on this week.

MATH-

  • Exploring multiple methods to subtract multi-digit numbers up to 1,000. We are using expanded form and proof drawings as means to help us put our mathematical thinking into words.
  • Relating addition and subtraction to each other as opposite operations and using the opposite operation to check for accuracy.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NBT.A.2
Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.

SCIENCE-

  • Observing water in nature. What natural materials absorb water and what natural materials repel water?
  • Investigating the effect of temperature on water.

ESS2.D: Weather and Climate

LITERACY-
  • Story Structure

CCSS-RL.3.3 Describe characters and explain how their actions contribute to the sequence of events
