MATH-
  • Continuing to represent and solve word problems involving equal groups and understanding multiplication in terms of equal groups. 
  • Relating skip counting to multiplication
  • Practicing 2s, 5s and 10s
How you can help at home: Continue to encourage your child to skip count. Continue practicing the multiplication tables working towards immediate recall of basic facts.

LITERACY
  • Spelling- words with long /a/ phonemes
  • Cursive- lower case l
  • Grammar -action verbs


How you can help at home: Continue to encourage your child to read for a minimum of 20 minutes every night. If possible, listen to your child read or take turns reading a favorite story aloud. Be sure to ask your child questions about the text.

SOCIAL STUDIES:  
  • Locating states on a map of the USA
  • Using a scaled key to calculate distances on a map
  • Cardinal directions
SEL
  • Using the Mood Meter to describe a character's emotions
  • Using the Mood Meter to describe our own emotions
  • Brainstorming activities to regulate emotions
SCIENCE
  • Students discover the big idea about water's movement on a slope. The steeper the slope, the faster the water moves down.
