Feb 13-17

Our students had a lot to say about last week's news about Eastgate being consolidated into two other schools. We dedicated some class time on Friday morning sharing our thoughts and feelings about the upcoming changes.  We took care of our hearts with some extended Choice Time, an afternoon movie etc.
In the meantime, we still have a lot of learning to do, so here is what we're doing this week.

MATH: We finished our addition and subtraction unit an dour moving onto division.
  • Relating multiplication to division
  • How many groups
  • How many in each group
  • Division Situation Drawings
LITERACY:


  • Spelling- More /r/ controlled vowels
  • Grammar- Verb Tenses
  • Reading -Using problem and solution to determine the writer's hidden message

  • Writing-Describing the central idea of a narrative using examples from the text.

SCIENCE:
  • floating paper clips
  • Changes in motion
  • Wheel-and-axle systems


MISC:  We will be celebrating Valentines all day on Tuesday starting with a morning art project where we will design our own envelopes for carrying home our goodies. We will exchange valentines  and enjoy Valentines-themed assignments all day long.
