Week of December 12-16

"Let your hope, not your hurts, shape your future," ~ Anonymous

We've had a wonderful week of learning. Students began drafting well-organized paragraphed that begin with an attention grabbing topic sentence, continue with 3-5, "tell-me-more-about-that," detail sentences, and finished with a concluding sentence that makes the paragraph feel done. They also began the challenging work of decomposing larger rectangles into smaller rectangles, finding the area of the smaller rectangles, and then adding those areas together to find the area of the larger rectangle. This is setting them up to explore the distributive property of multiplication.

Here's what we're doing this week.

  • Unit practice
  • Unit test
