November 14-18

I trust everyone had a chance to enjoy the glorious fall weather this weekend. I met a friend for coffee early Saturday morning and then began knitting a new sweater. Seemed like a perfectly cozy way to begin this season of thankfulness.

Here's what's on the agenda this week.

LITERACY:

Spelling: unexpected consonant spellings
Grammar: using parts of speech
Parts of speech: nouns
Writing: Continuing analyzing prompts using PIE and TAP

MATH:
A big thank you to our lovely GSA's who have been working with students one-on-one on their multiplication facts. This is going to be super helpful in the weeks ahead as we begin using these facts to help us calculate the area of rectangles.
  • Using square tiles to measure area
  • Finding the area of rectangles
SCIENCE:
  • Sinking and floating
  • Water as Ice
