READING- We practiced using Venn Diagrams to compare and contrast different elements of the historical fiction pieces we read.  We continued to work on answering comprehension questions in complete sentences using key words from the questions in our responses.

WRITING- As we continue to work on the first draft of our character analysis, we began working in small guided writing groups to support each other. Some students, after encountering difficulties with their first topics, made the wise decision to change topics. We discovered that good writers change topics when necessary in order to improve the quality of their writing.

MATH- We explored patterns in the three times table and the four times table in order to increase our fluency in both. We related finding the area of arrays (rectangles) to multiplication. We explored the Distributive and Associative Properties of Multiplication and used them to help us solve multiplication equations with factors greater than five.

SOCIAL STUDIES-  We discovered how states can be grouped into regions based on three characteristics;  physical features such as mountains, lakes, and deserts, natural resources such as lumber and seafood, and climate. Students worked in small groups to create poster-sized charts analyzing cities according to these geographic features. This is to prepare us to compare and contrast different regions across the country.

MISC- We were introduced to the "What Stuck With Me Today," bulletin board. The purpose of this board is to encourage us to be reflective about our learning in order to identify our "take away." By celebrating what we've learned, we can be more precise in setting goals and identifying our next steps.

#7 and #22 turned in their DOJO Share-n-Tell passes in order to present their stuff to their class.

STUDENTS, for one DOJO point tell me what stuck with you this week? What is one new thing you learned, or what was reinforced for you?
