Students took a practice today to prepare them for tomorrow's test. We corrected the practice test in class and students are bringing them home to study and learn from any errors they may have made. I was pleased to see that most students were able to write an equation that matched the story problem. The errors they made tended to be due to not having memorized a particular fact. I advised all students to go over their times tables tonight for homework. Also, several students struggled with the last problem requiring an extended response. In essence, this is a multi-step problem and students are encouraged to use equations to show how they solved each step. Some students wrote their responses in words, which is fine, but not quite as efficient.
