Happy Summer

Wishing you a summer full of imagination!

It's been a wonderful year full of learning.  I have truly enjoyed working with your children.  Report cards are being sent home via email.  Additionally, your child should have brought home a Reading Response Journal on Thursday.  The journal is full of graphic organizers suited to the various types of reading responses we studied over the course of the school year. I strongly urge all students to read for at least 40 minutes every day this summer.  After reading, take an additional ten to twenty minutes to respond to the reading material on one of the pages in the journal.  All work should be neat and free from errors as is fitting a student entering the fourth grade. Additionally, continue to work on multiplication facts with your child.   I firmly believe these "assignments" will help prevent the slide that typically occurs over the long weeks of summer. Neat, fourth grade ready, completed journals will earn a package of skittles and a certificate in September.
