March 27

We've had a few very busy weeks in third grade.

LITERACY- We have officially begun drafting our stories for YAD (Young Authors Day.) Yay!  Most students have chosen to write fictional narratives although a few have chosen expository reports. We are paying particular attention to the revising and drafting stages of writing. Our goal is to have a working draft to take home over the break so students can type a final copy at home. We've been celebrating the YAD season with our own special "About the Author" pages. More about these later.

MATH- We took our Unit 5 test on Friday. Unit 6 introduces us to polygons, perimeters and area.
Mr. Lesco models his test-taking skills with the class.
