Third graders are learning to use proof drawings to prove that their work in multi-digit subtraction with regrouping aka borrowing. Using proof drawings helps students develop the mathematical habit of proving their work, Proof drawings also helps students understand what is happening when we use borrowing to solve subtraction problems.
