I trust everyone had a lovely three day weekend. I spent my long weekend with family in Battle Ground where we celebrated my mother's birthday.
LITERACY- Our own Mrs. Palmquist taught us how to use a new literacy tool. WriteSmart is found on the Journeys ThinkCentral website. This past week, students read two stories and were prompted to write a paragraph describing similarities in the two and using examples from the text to support their claims.
MATH- We took our Unit 3 math test on measuring time and other dimensions using both the metric system and the US customary system. In Unit 4 we will begin multi-digit addition and subtraction using regrouping.
Even though we are beginning an addition and subtraction unit, students are encouraged to continue working on memorizing their multiplication facts.
SCIENCE- We learned about air-resistance. We used a model to help us understand how different planets have different atmospheres with different thicknesses. We used the model to help us understand how these differences impact the rate at which objects fall.
