Science- Detecting Calcite in Rocks

Using vinegar to detect calcite
Be sure to ask your child about today's science investigation.  Students have been learning that rocks are made of ingredients called minerals and that geologists test rocks for the presence of these minerals. Our third grade geologists are applying these tests to their rocks to test for these minerals.
